While sitting at home, isolated during the global Covid-19 pandemic, working in home-office for my job as an engineer, I was telling myself that there must be a way how I can help this terrible situation. After a couple of days and hearing from a lot of friends who fell in love again with their, sometimes pretty old, video games it suddenly came to my mind...
Why can we not play video games and help people who are affected by this terrible pandemic at the same time.
I was looking for video game app companies who officially say they are doing something for the good cause, but I didn't find any...
Pretty quickly I figured that I need to start this myself. I am not a programmer, app developer or game designer in the first place, but with a little bit of knowledge of everything I came up with a simple but fun jump and run game where I got my friends addicted to pretty quickly.
I knew this is the right starting point so I uploaded my App to the Google Play Store and Apple Appstore. With just a handful users this app obviously cannot do anything, but if we manage to generate a huge user base, where we can get every user to play just a view minutes a day, we will generate a decent amount of money and therefore be able to help social organizations.
As there are hosting, database, maintenance and other fees involved with this project I obviously cannot promise to donate 100% of the earnings but my target (I really need to see how that all evolves cost-wise) is to donate at least half of the earnings to social organizations. If it is possible to achieve more, great but at the moment I cannot guarantee more and I want to be completely open with you. All donations and so on will be published here on this website so you can see right away that your playtime helped to do something great.
The apps and this website is like the whole project just starting, so for sure there will be updates to improve the user experience more and more.
If you like the idea, please share this project with your friends and help to make a global impact on how all of us can help social organizations.
